John Ramsbottom (General Manager)
John joined the Timberlane Team in July of 2006. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario’s Kinesiology program, John has spent over 30 years in the club industry. Other clubs he has managed or been involved with in a management capacity are The Greenwin Tennis Club, The Waterside Sports Club, The St. Clair Club and The Sports Clubs of Canada. He’s an avid tennis player himself.
Dianne Ingwersen (Assistant Manager)
Since joining the staff of Timberlane Tennis and Country Club in November 1991, Dianne has witnessed firsthand the evolution of Timberlane from an exclusive tennis, squash and social club in the early days to today’s vibrant athletic facility. Beginning as a part time Receptionist she has been actively involved in the day to day operations of the club since the mid 90’s.
Today, Dianne is responsible for human resources (outside of tennis and fitness), oversees Reception, Babysitting and our seasonal swimming pool and works with Maintenance staff on facility operations, security and seasonal horticulture. Organizing fundraising events and processing charitable donations on behalf of the club is a proud part of Dianne’s responsibilities. Behind the scenes she has many administrative duties.
Dianne enjoys her role as the unofficial ‘sub’ for ladies’ tennis events and social games!
Julie O'Neill (Assistant Manager)
Julie joined the Timberlane family in 1992 and has seen many changes as the club has grown from a small private tennis facility into the busy athletic club it is today. Julie has an Honours BA from Wilfred Laurier University and a Bachelor of Education from York University. Prior to working at Timberlane, Julie worked in Human Resources at several large manufacturing companies in the Toronto area.
Julie began part-time in the front office when the club had approximately 400 members and she knew everyone by name and is now the Assistant Club Manager, Membership services for close to 2000 members. Julie is currently kept very busy as the “go-to-person” for any membership and billing enquiries.
Allyson McLaughlin (Membership Director)
Allyson has been involved in the Health and Fitness Industry since 1985.
In September 2001, Timberlane expanded the Fitness Center and Allyson joined the membership department.
Allyson's role changed over the years and she is now the Director of Sales and Marketing. Allyson is delighted to use her creative abilities when composing advertisements, signage, and marketing materials for the club.
Allyson states that Timberlane Athletic Club has the best members and the best staff in all of York Region!
Joan Machin (Fitness Director)
Joan Machin has been the Fitness Director at Timberlane Athletic Club since Jan. 2007. She has been in the Fitness Industry since 1994 and has worked all over York Region.
She is a certified Personal Trainer with the Canadian Personal Trainers Network and a certified Fitness Instructor with the Ontario Fitness Council. She holds accreditations with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology and the Ontario Association for Sport and Exercise Science. She also is qualified with Canadian Fitness Professionals (CanFitPro) as a Director of Group Exercise. Joan has a degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto, and studied the Fitness Leadership Program at Seneca College.
She is also a certified Spinning and Weight Training Instructor with Body Training Systems International as well as a certified Aquafit Instructor with the American Aquatic Exercise Association. Joan is very proud of her highly qualified staff of Trainers and Instructors and hopes that, with her team, she can make your Fitness experience at Timberlane a veryenjoyable and rewarding one.
Bill Maron (director of tennis)

Bill has over 18 years experience as a club manager, camp director and teaching pro. Bill was the club manager and head instructor at the Eglinton Flats Tennis Club for 12 years. Closer to home, Bill has directed the Town of Aurora tennis program for 7 years and was head pro at the Aurora Community Tennis Club for one season before starting at Timberlane. Bill has also been the head professional at the Nottawasaga Resort, Davisville Tennis Club and Markham Tennis Club. Bill is certified by Tennis Canada as a Coach 1 and Level 2 Instructor. Bill joined the Timberlane team in 2008.
Del wheeler (Maintenance Supervisor)
Prior to joining Timberlane in 2011, Del was the Property Manager at the Glenway Golf and Country Club for 7 years. He brings a vast experience in mechanical and building maintenance as he was in the automotive industry in maintenance for 18 years.
Del is a qualified electrician, mechanic, and is quite familiar with gas and hydraulic equipment. He has certified water treatment training as well as certified Home Inspector training. He holds training certificates such as; Energy savings, human resources, time management and health and safety.
